He was preceded in death by his father, Coy Townley; mother, Ruth Nation; and brother, Milton Townley. He was the loving stepfather of Jim Townley (Janet) and Deb Staton (Jerry); and dear brother of Pete Townley, & Tommy Townley (Sherry). Poppa loved his grandchildren and will be greatly missed by Carissa Townley (Kevin), Josh Faught (Mandy) Austin Townley & Wynter Townley. He will be sadly missed by nieces & nephews, Kim Sturdiivant (Kevin) Tommy Townley, Mudd Townley, Michael Sparks, & Michelle Sparks Dahlem. He was a beloved cousin and friend to many.
Yogi loved Alabama football and he loved his family and friends. He was a loving and generous man to all who knew him. He was always helping his friends and family whenever he could. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
The celebration of Yogi’s life will be at 11am on Friday, November 21, 2014 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
