

Linda Cooper Cousins, age 82, of Birmingham, Alabama, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 18, 2025. She was born in Lumberton, Mississippi on August 10,1943 to the late Agnes Dymple Cooper and Sedgie (Ted) Ford Cooper.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary Cooper of Jackson, Mississippi. She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Tom Cousins; her son, Christopher (Cathy) Cousins; her daughter, Jennifer Cousins (Barry) Wilson; her beloved grandchildren, Thomas Cousins, Nathaniel Cousins, Georgia Cousins, Connor (Samantha) Wilson, and Olivia Wilson and great-grandson, Cillian Wilson.
Linda was a proud graduate of Lumberton High School, where she excelled both in the classroom and on the basketball court. She went on to earn her undergraduate degree in Education from Oklahoma State University and later her Master’s degree in Business Education from William Carey College.
For more than 35 years, Linda dedicated her life to teaching, inspiring generations of students with her patience, warmth, and love of learning. Outside of the classroom, she was an avid reader—especially fond of romantic novels—an excellent cook, loved fresh flowers and was a gracious hostess. Above all, she cherished her family, who were the center of her world.
Linda’s gentle spirit, sharp wit, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Final Resting Place & Memorial Contributions:
Linda’s final resting place will be at the Alabama National Cemetery, located at 3133 Highway 119, Montevallo, Alabama 35115.
