

Lois was a loving wife, devoted mother, and enthusiastic homemaker whose favorite pastime was playing Duplicate Bridge with friends. She earned "Life Master" status by playing in American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) sanctioned tournaments.
An Alabama Crimson Tide fan who also enjoyed shopping sprees with her sister Jean McCulley, Lois had a keen eye for merchandise on sale. Another of her favorite pastimes was relaxing at the beach, especially watching the sunsets.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Cook; her father, Robert B. Kennedy; her mother, Wella Moore Kennedy; two sons, Steven G. Alexander and Christopher B. Alexander; three sisters, Helen K. Lais, Ruth Eubanks, and Imogene McCulley; and one brother, Kenneth Kennedy.
Lois is survived by one son, Kenneth Baxter Alexander; one grandson, Christopher Austin Alexander; a great-granddaughter, Alexis Grace Alexander; daughter-in-law, Janet Riggs; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Friday, June 5, 2026 from 10-11 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. That same day, inurnment will be at Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo at 1:15 p.m.
