Margie Dawson Dawson Hunt

Margie Dawson Hunt, (Nannie), passed away peacefully at her Birmingham, Alabama home on Sunday, August 12, 2012. She was born in Birmingham on February 21, 1921 and was a graduate of Phillips High School. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 yeaers, Albert W. Hunt. Survivors include Margie's beloved daughter, Faith Rains and her husband Fred Rains; and grandchildren, Robin and Carrie Rains. She is also survived by family: Peggy and Gerald Hicks, Gaye and Billy Wayne Morris, Doris Fancher, Dorothy Green, Mary Jim Currier, Marilyn and Allen Schultz, and life-long friend Mary Ivy. Margie was a member of Central Park Baptist Church for 72 years and is currently a member of First Baptist of Hoover, Alabama. She was a member of the Alice Spurrier and Hoover chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star and was active in that organization her entire life. Margie's life revolved around her church, family, and friends. She was a joy to be around and will be missed by all. The family would like to thank Angel Emanuel, Jennifer Williams, Allison Craddock, and Angela Lewis of Affinity Hospice for the loving care they provided. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Hoover on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. Visitation will be at 10 a.m., and the funeral will be at 11 a.m. The graveside service will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Birmingham.
