Dumas, Mary Catherine, 78, of Birmingham, Alabama passed away on June 27, 2015. Mary Catherine leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 61 years, Mr. Robert Bill Dumas; son, Robert (Pamela) David Dumas; daughters, Linda Dumas Mooney and Sherrie (Al) LeMier-Potts; sisters, Carolyn Dear and Esther Richardson; grandchildren, Brad, Carrie (Dylan), Christen, Justin, Brandon (Nicole), Rachel and Justin (Sylvia); great-grandchildren, Mila and Hudson. Mary Catherine was a beautician but also taught many more beauticians how to make others beautiful. For over 40 years she taught both how to do hair and the Word of God to every young woman or man student that crossed the threshold of Hueytown Beauty School. She retired just two months ago after a life altering fall. Her legacy will carry on. There are many more beautiful heads and hearts in Birmingham because of Mary Catherine. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 30th from 1:30-3:00 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, the Celebration of Life Service will begin at 3pm. Burial to follow in Southern Heritage Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request donations made to Vitas Healthcare.
