Matt was a graduate of Homewood High School and attended Shelton State Community College. He was the owner of Tower Automotive and Towing, where he built his business through hard work, intelligence, and determination. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles. He had a love for animals and was deeply involved in animal rescue.
Matt is survived by his wife, Ashley Edwards; father, Vince Bennett; mother, Brigitte Brett Terry (Nelson); his siblings, Amelia Bennett, Mitchell Bennett (Daira), Michael Oliver, Kyle Terry (Arielle), and Katie Terry; and his grandmother, Margo Burgess.
Visitation will be held at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 10-11 a.m., followed by a graveside service at 11 a.m. at Southern Heritage Cemetery, adjoining the funeral home. Dr. Nathan Carmen and Rev. John Mount will officiate.
