Michelle O'Connor Stinson

Michelle O’Connor Stinson was born at Trippler Army Hospital, Oahu Hawaii, July 30, 1959. She grew up as an Air Force brat who traveled and lived around the world, collecting many amazing lifelong friends along the way. She was a member of Bluff Park Methodist Church and a long-term resident of Pelham Alabama. One of her fondest memories was living in the Azores where she loved riding her horse, Maluke, with her sisters and friends. Michelle graduated from Berry High school in 1977. She married her loving husband, Bo Stinson, in 1979 and enjoyed 44 beautiful years of marriage.

She loved animals, trips to the beach, traveling, bowling, crafts, gardening, and helping others. She never met a stranger, and her beautiful smile would light up the room! She loved her dog, Kona, as well as McKinzie, Riley and Murphy who came before him.

Michelle is predeceased by her mother, Barbara J. O’Connor; sister, Brenda R. O’Connor; grandfathers, Irving W. Avery and Eugene O’Connor; and grandmothers, Jean V. Avery and Antoinette O’Connor.

She is survived by her husband, James (Bo) W. Stinson; father, John E. O’Connor; sisters, Patricia O. Wood (Buz) and Tina O. Soriano (Gary); as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for Michelle will be held Friday, August 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, Alabama 35124. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until11:00 AM.

The family request those who wish to express sympathy to consider donating to their local animal shelter, in lieu of flowers, in Michelle’s memory.
