She was born on September 21, 1936 in Addison, Alabama to the late Homer and Lydia Andrews. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Fletcher and her brother, Benjamin Andrews.
Nancy received her Bachelors in English at UAB and worked for IBM. She was a member of Huffman Baptist Church. Nancy was a devoted wife and mother and a huge fan of Alabama football.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Thomas F. Gatts; her son, Robert Britt Burns; her stepson, Charles R. Burns III; three grandchildren, Robert Brandon Burns, Ryen Brett Burns, and Rebekkah Brittney Burns; four great-grandchildren, Briana and Bryan Burns, Esa Burns, and Razeen Carroll.
Visitation will be held at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Saturday, December 19, 2020, from 9:30-10:30 am with a graveside service following at 11:00 am at Forest Hill Cemetery.
