Nancy Lee Reid

Nancy was born December 14, 1946, one of the first babies born at East End Hospital.

Nancy was a graduate of West End High and Alverson Draughon Business College. She also attended UAB – Elementary Education. She was also a graduate of Southern Institute Hospitality Management Program.

She was named Sales and Marketing Executive of the year while in hotel sales. She was named Homewood Employee of The Year by the Chamber of Commerce while employed at the Homewood Park and Recreation where she retired after 24 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John David Reid Jr. and Naomi Johnson Reid, her uncle, Thomas Reid and aunts, Mildred Sawyer and Ultalee.

She is survived by, Jean Crenshaw, whom Nancy said “God put in my life this special, caring person”, aunt, June Reid and numerous cousins.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, June 25 at 11:00 am at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with visitation starting at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial cemetery in Trussville at 1:00. Family requests casual attire.
