SWINEY, ODELLE NABORS, 89, of Alabaster, Alabama, passed away January 5, 2011. She was a charter member of over 70 years at Kingwood Church. In 1975 after age 50, she was in the first graduating class of the Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing at Samford University. In 1986 with 30 years of nursing service, she retired from Shelby Baptist Medical Center. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Leland Swiney; children, Linda Arnold, Daniel T. Swiney, and Ronald Patrick Swiney; sister, Loreta Cooper; and brothers, Bronson Nabors, Howard Nabors, and Ronald Nabors. Survivors include her daughter, Robbie Carter Statham (Jon); a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Audra Wilson of Pensacola, Florida; and nieces and nephews. Visitation, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2011, Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. Funeral, 1 p.m. the same day in Southern Heritage Chapel with Dr. Ron Cox officiating. Burial, Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Hoover, Alabama.
