

He graduated from John Carroll High School and attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he earned a degree in accounting. He spent his professional career at Birmingham Rubber Stamp & Stencil Company, which his parents started in 1952. He was a long-time member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid sports fan. He loved watching SEC football, particularly his beloved Crimson Tide. He also played golf and was a member of several bowling teams. He was an advocate for youth sports and coached his children’s baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer teams. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. Family was of the utmost importance, and he always made time for children and grandchildren.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Stella Estep; son-In-Law, Brad Ripperdan and daughter -In- Law, Kristina Corbin.
Survived by his loving wife, Barbara Estep, children, Michelle Ripperdan, Paul Estep, II (Kelly), Mark Estep, Lindsey McFall (Michael), grandchildren, Elizabeth Ripperdan, Samantha Ripperdan, Rebecca Estep, Peyton Estep, Anderson Estep, Abigail McFall, Lucas McFall, sister, Donna Howell, Brother, Donald J. Estep (Teresa) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the staff of UAB St. Vincent’s, especially the SICU and 3 South staff, as well as the staff with Compassus Hospice.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, with a funeral mass to follow at 10:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Tunnel to Towers, Folds of Honor, or your favorite charity.
