

He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 26,1937, to Ralph C. Travis and Helen B. Travis. He grew up in Sylacauga, Alabama where he was on the high school basketball team for four years and President of the Senior Class. Neal graduated from the University of Alabama and immediately started working as a management trainee for what would become Bell South. He held positions in Alabama, Tennessee, and Louisiana. Neal retired as President of Bell South Alabama after 43 years of service.
During his life he was very involved with the Baptist Church, and many other civic and charitable projects. He was an avid Alabama football fan. One of his favorite memories was running the Olympic torch during the Atlanta Olympics. Neal loved being a dog dad to Samantha.
Neal is preceded in death by his son, Michael Neal Travis; his parents, Ralph and Helen Travis; and his nephew, John Thompson.
Neal is survived by his wife Billie White Travis, and his son William Ralph Travis. He is also survived by his sister, Janet Thompson Hawkins (Frank); brother, Kenneth H. Travis (Judy); his granddaughters, Tiffany T. Radloff (Ryan); Bethany T. Anstey (Jack); Ashley B. Travis; grandson, Brandon Travis; and great grandchild, Ragnar Radloff. He is also survived by his former daughters-in-law, Charlotte Fowler Travis, and Susan Argo.
A family celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Destin Florida.
