

Roie was the daughter of Demetrius Theoharis and Helen Koken Harris. She was born Kalliroi Demetria Theoharis in Tampa, Florida in 1933. Roie married Ira Burton Price in 1962.
She is survived by her loving children: Julia Brackeen (Gary), Rebecca Boutsikoudis (Anthony), Walter Price (Barbara), and Charlie Price (Suzi). Her grandchildren include: Lauren Waycaster (Garrett), Grant Brackeen (Stephanie), Nikki Boutsikoudis, Alexis Boutsikoudis, Walter Price Jr., Heather Keller (Robert), Jillian Price, Jordan Price, Molly Sandberg, Ethan Sandberg, William Sandberg, and Christopher Sandberg. Her great grandchildren include: Corrin Waycaster, Gabrielle Brackeen, Natalie Brackeen, Kaitlyn Byrnes, Mackenzie Byrnes, Caleb Price, and Ethan Price. She is survived by her sister, Christina Gionis, brother, Ted Harris, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her sister, Alice Agapion and her infant baby, Peter.
Roie was devout in her religion. She was one of the founding members of the Holy Mother of God Greek Orthodox Church in Tallahassee, FL where she attended for over 50 years. She was a dedicated member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society where she served as President along with several other elected positions. As a member she enjoyed chairing and participating in events to help those in need.
Roie was raised by her parents who were Greek Immigrants. She was very proud of her Greek heritage and culture which she instilled in her children and shared with her family and friends.
Most of Roie’s married life was spent in Quincy, Florida. Roie was actively involved in many clubs and organizations, including: Girl Scout troop leader, garden club, and bridge club.
With much persistence and determination, Roie started a career in Real Estate later in life. During her 20 years as a realtor with Century 21, she excelled and became a member of the million dollar club.
Roie had a vivacious personality and enjoyed entertaining. She was an impeccable and gracious hostess, hosting holiday events in her home for family and friends. She also enjoyed floral design, interior design, preparing Greek cuisine and baking, especially her famous sour cream pound cake.
Mostly, however, she had a love for her family. She made sure, no matter what the obstacles, she stayed connected with her siblings and was there physically and emotionally for her children. She demonstrated patience, kindness, honesty and mutual respect for others.
Her light continues to shine in all the lives she touched. She will be truly missed.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at Holy Trinity - Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Cathedral at 307 19th St South, Birmingham, AL. Visitation will be from 10am to 11am. The funeral service will begin at 11am, followed by the graveside service at Currie Jefferson Memorial Home at 2701 John Hawkins Parkway in Hoover, AL.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Roie’s honor to the Ladies Philoptochos Society of the Holy Mother of God Greek Orthodox Church, 1647 Phillips Road, Tallahassee, FL, 32308.
