

"Rosie" finished nursing school in 1950 at St. Margaret's Nursing School in Montgomery, Alabama. She served in many nursing roles, retiring from Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery in 1994.
Rosie was predeceased by her husband, the Rev. Aubrey B. Hartley; daughter, Grace Hartley; parents, the Rev. Johnnie and Bertha Stewart; brother, Marvin W. Stewart; and in-laws, Fred and Bessie Hartley.
Survivors include Rosie's two daughters, Faith H. Alexander (Gregg) and Joy H. Lynch (J. Edward); grandchildren, Bryan A. Moseley, Christian D. Lynch, Leslie A. Alexander, and Lauria Beth Eastman (David); one great-grandchild, Cooper James Eastman; sisters, Anna Jewel Motley and Dot Stewart; nieces, Mary Ann Corliss (Regi), Brenda McCormick (Robert), and Barbara Metz (Roger); nephews, Dave Stewart (Renee') and Jimmy Stewart; great-nephews, Jason Taunton (Carter) and Stephen Taunton (Mallory); many other great-nephews; and great-nieces.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama, immediately followed by the Celebration of Rosie's Life in Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel at 11 a.m. The Rev. Brook Lovett will officiate. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at Chaney Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Eclectic, Alabama.
