

Visitation will be at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., followed by A Service of Remembrance at 11 a.m. at the funeral home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124. Dr. Billy Skinner will officiate.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents, JD and Gladys Skinner, and her husband of 42 years, Thomas “Pap” Morris. Survivors include Rose's children, Tony Hamlett and Lori Hamlett Herbert (Ken); daughter-in-law, Fran Milligan Hamlett; grandchildren, Nicole Goode (Jason), Morris Hodges (Morgan), and Lauren Lowry (Jerry); great-grandchildren, Clark Goode, Pippi and Penny Lowry, and Lincoln, Elle and Joanna Rose Hodges; brothers and sisters, William Skinner (Kay), Billy Skinner (Elisa), Ray Skinner (Sylvia), Gene Skinner, Ken Skinner (Anne Marie), Diane Lucas (Edgar), and Pat Harris; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Rose graduated from Frayser High School in Memphis, Tennessee and immediately began her career as a Switchboard Operator at South Central Bell. After more than 40 years, she retired from BellSouth in Birmingham, Alabama as a Business Marketing Director. She loved all of her many roles, but she cherished most the lifelong friends she made throughout her career.
