

WRIGHT, RUTH BETHEA Ruth Bethea Wright, Age 80 Passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2010. She was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on December 17, 1929. Services will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home and Cemetery in Pelham. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. The services will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Gladstone Everett Wright. She is survived by her daughter Donna Wright Lloyd (James) of Anniston and son Dan Allen Wright (Claire) of Birmingham, and was "Mimi" to two wonderful grandchildren, Ashley Elizabeth Lloyd and Blake Allen Lloyd, who she deeply loved. Mrs. Wright was the oldest of 8 children and is survived by two brothers and three sisters, John Bethea (Judy), Charles Bethea, Sue Bethea, Myra Lazenby and Joanne Wilkes. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Grace Young and Jean Ward. Ruth and Everett met as teenagers and enjoyed life together for 57 years. They were fortunate to retire early in 1990 and built their dream home on Logan Martin Lake in Lincoln, Alabama. She was a founding member of the Eureka Baptist Church. Ruth was known for her fabulous desserts. She was frequently asked by friends and family to bake her specialty, cream cheese pound cake. She had a very quick wit and could make everyone around her laugh, even at her own expense. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother, wonderful mother-in-law and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
