Sandy Porter, of Pelham, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014. She was a loving, outgoing, sweet spirit who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sandy loved the outdoors and the beach. The beach was her special playground. She was full of life and a joy to be around. She always had a hug to give. Sandy loved her son, Jeremiah and her granddaughter, Delia. Her husband, Jim, was the joy of her life, best friend and soul mate. She and Jim loved to do things together, and they especially enjoyed beach trips.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Herman Lee Glaze and Annie Acre; and her brother, James Glaze. She is survived by her husband, Jim Porter; son, Jeremiah Murry; brother, Ron Glaze and granddaughter, Delia Kaye Murry.
Sandy’s life celebration will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Sandy may be made to First Baptist Church of Pelham.
