

Shane Lantrip Caldwell, 40, of Leeds, died July 27, 2014. He was born September 6, 1973 in Birmingham, the son of Rick Caldwell and Becky Lantrip Cowden. Shane graduated from Pelham High School in 1991. He married Keisha Frederick on August 20, 1999. Shane had previously worked as a Team Coordinator at Honda Manufacturing of Alabama. He was currently employed by Dreamcakes Bakery in Homewood. He attended Church of the Highlands. He was an avid Alabama Football fan, enjoyed fishing and had a love of music. Shane was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Carolyn Caldwell. He is survived by Keisha Frederick Caldwell; his son, Elvis; daughter, Zoe; his parents, Rick Caldwell (Rita) and Becky Lantrip Cowden (Preston); his grandparents Bill “Big Daddy” and Clara “KK” Lantrip; his sisters, Merri Caldwell DeFoor (Josh); Angela Priola (Stephen); Anna Fleenor (Mark), Zoe Jean Caldwell; his brother, Albert Canzoneri; in-laws, Lowell and Anne Frederick; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. “We all loved Shane very much, he will be missed.”
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Cancer Unit at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Friday, August 1, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm followed by a celebration of life service at 7:00 pm officiated by Shane’s uncle, William Lantrip, Chaplin and Pastor Mark Peacock.
Shane’s first scripture learned: Psalm 118:24 “This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
