Mrs. Garner was born in Birmingham, AL to the late Loyd Kendrick and the late Sallie Silf Kendrick. She married the love of her life, the late Grady Garner, on July 23rd, 1965. She passed away, age 73, on Saturday, November 20th, 2021. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, her siblings Loyd Kendrick Jr and Suzie Kendrick, and infant daughter. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Garner (Kim) and Jason Garner (Agnes); grandchildren, (of Jason and Agnes)- Charles Milliron III (Courtney), Chris Milliron (Amanda), Nicole Odum (Branson), grandchildren (of Jeffrey and Kim)- Jordan and Joshua, Zachary Garner, and Logan Garner; great-grandchildren, Keeley Milliron, Easton Milliron, Branson Odum Jr, Grady Odum, Brody Odum, and Jordan’s children; sibling, Danny Kendrick; and several other family members and friends. Shirley graduated from Thompson High School class of 1966 and dedicated 27 years to the Shelby County School System as a beloved bus driver. Her dedication to the school children was undeniable. Some of the joys of her life included spending time with family, sitting on her porch swing, feeding the critters and birds and listening to Elvis Presley. Her family will have a celebration of life with visitation Tuesday, November 23rd, 2021 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home from 10:00 am-11:00 am, with a chapel service to follow. Burial will follow at Southcrest Baptist Church.
