Theodore William Schneider

Ted was born on February 16, 1943, to John D. and Geraldine E. Schneider in Chicago, IL. After he graduated from Corpus Christi High School in Galesburg, IL, he served in the Air Force for 6 years, then furthered his education at Carl Sandburg College. While stationed in Japan, he met Setsuko Ohba, and they were married in June 1965 in San Francisco, CA. They were blessed with two sons, Paul and Toby.

Ted worked at Butler Manufacturing for nearly 40 years. After his retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, watching sports, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an active member at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Setsuko; his sister, Mary Frances; his brothers, John, Gregory, Bernard, and Mark; and his grandsons, Zachary Aaron and William Evan. He is survived by his sons, Paul (Amber) and Toby (Julie); grandchildren, Austin Brewer (Adam), Anya, Noah, Emerson; his brothers, Jerome, Joel, Donat; and his sisters, Mary Pat Anthony and Mariann Krall.

Visitation will be held at Southern Heritage Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 30th at 10:30 a.m. and chapel service at 11:30 am. Burial will follow at Alabama National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dementia Society of America.
