Thomas Oliver Mosley, Sr. died on September 21, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Thyrza Mosley and by his two brothers Hugo and Dolph. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Edna Merle Hatfield Mosley and their five children, Tommy ( Martha), Kenny ( Regina), Terry ( Kenny) Osberry, Jerry (Lynn) and Cindy ( Eddie) Harris. He is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren, Wendy Pharo, April Jones, Kenny Mosley, Jr.,Taylor Mosley,Erin Waldron,Kristen Mosley,Beau Mosley, Megan Mosley,Chris Osberry, Christel Lewis,Corey Osberry,Matthew Harris, Thomas Harris and fifteen great grandchildren.
A native of Ensley, Alabama, Tom served his country in the Air Force and participated in the Berlin airlift. Subsequent to his military career, he earned a civil engineering degree from the Alabama Polytechnic Institute ( Auburn University).Tom worked as the patent manager for U.S. Pipe and Foundry for 35 years and established a number of international relationships that served the company well. Tom was an avid tennis player and his family was designated as the Alabama Tennis Family of the Year in 2002. He also enjoyed playing bridge,horseshoes,bocce,hunting,fishing beekeeping, crossword puzzles and dominos. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 23,2014 at 3pm at Asbury United Methodist church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the National Parkinson's Foundation would be appreciated.
