Vonda Lee Cook, age 94, of Hoover, AL, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025. Vonda was a long time member of Riverchase Church of Christ. Vonda was predeceased by her parents, Homer Carter and Bertha Jones Carter, and her husband of 69 years, Henry S. Cook, Jr.
Survivors include two sons, John Cook of Houston, TX, and Clarke Cook (Cecilia) of Birmingham; two grandchildren, Brandon Cook and Amanda (Nathan) Southwick; and four great-grandchildren, Kailyn Simmons, Noah Southwick, Kaylee Cook, and Brielyn Cook. The family thanks Jose Kimani and the caregivers of CarePoint InHome Care for their compassionate care of Vonda.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, AL, immediately followed by graveside service at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. Brother Dewayne Spivey will officiate.
