Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Codis and Inez Adkinson; his brother, Kenneth Adkinson; and his son-in-law, Brad Burton. He is leaving behind his loving wife of 37 years, Eva; daughters, Candice and Kathryn (Jonathan); and grandchildren, Joseph, Roger, Camden, Grayson, and Eva Kate.
Wayne was born on February 17, 1951, in Dothan, Alabama, where he resided until he went to The University of Alabama on a football scholarship. He received his undergraduate degree in business while playing football for Coach Bryant and remaining actively involved in Sigma Nu fraternity. He continued his education at UA to achieve his MBA.
Wayne enjoyed a rewarding career in the investment industry in Birmingham, where he developed many life-long and meaningful relationships. One of his greatest pleasures in life was watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports. He rarely missed an opportunity to attend a game, whether it be college, high school, or little league baseball.
Wayne was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. His love for the Lord showed through his genuine love for people. He always had a beautiful smile that could light up any room.
We are thankful for his life, his example of Christ's love, his loyalty to family and friends, and his unwavering optimism.
