William "Ron" Forrester

FORRESTER, WILLIAM RONALD "RON," SR., age 78, of Hoover, Alabama, a faithful servant of his Lord, Jesus Christ, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native was a devoted husband of nearly 60 years, a loving and involved father and grandfather, a talented builder, a residential and commercial building designer, and a civil engineer. He found many ways to contribute his talents and abilities even after his retirement. His legacy will live on in the people who were blessed to have known him. Ron is survived by his four children, Ronda Smith, Debra Short (Bill), Bill Forrester (Mary Ann), and Beverly Thompson (Britt); grandchildren, Allen Short (Natalie), Aaron Short, Andrew Short (Misti), Jordan Smith, Joslyn Smith, Patricia Forrester, Lindsey Forrester, Breann Thompson Angelovich (Shane), and Spenser Thompson; brother, Robert Forrester; and sister, Lea Walters. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Alabama. The funeral service will be the same day at 2 p.m. in Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham, and burial will follow in Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham.
