Laurence graduated from Tarrant High School before attending the University of Alabama. His professional career spanned several years in sales management in the building insulation industry.
In his leisure, Laurence enjoyed fishing, playing golf, riding motorcycles, and watching Alabama Crimson Tide football.
Laurence was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Randolph Owings, Sr. and Edna Faye Edwards Owings. Survivors include Laurence's wife of almost 56 years, the former Donna Lynn Dobbs of Hoover, Alabama; one son and daughter-in-law, Brent and Angel Owings of Cropwell, Alabama; and two step-grandchildren, Haley Hapgood and her husband Alex Hapgood, and Lane Carlee.
The family will greet friends from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2025 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home, 475 Cahaba Valley Road, Pelham, AL 35124.
