

Bennie was the son of Avis Meredith and the late James Meredith. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jody Thompson, and his brother, Ricky Goodman.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Henrietta Goodman; his son, Ryan Goodman (Grace), and grandson, Aiden Goodman; and his daughter, Megan Goodman. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Richard Thompson.
Bennie proudly served his country in the Army National Guard in Birmingham, Alabama. He dedicated over 30 years of hard work to American Cast Iron Pipe Company (ACIPCO) before retiring. In retirement, he enjoyed life on his farm in Odenville, Alabama, and later at Logan Martin Lake, where he embraced the peace and beauty of the outdoors.
A man of strong faith, Bennie loved his Lord and Savior and was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Cropwell, Alabama. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Bennie had a gift for bringing joy to those around him. He cherished time spent with his many good friends at the community Tiki Hut and was well known for proudly firing his beloved potato gun,
affectionately named “Mr. Hee Haw,” every time his Alabama football team scored a touchdown—a tradition that brought laughter and unforgettable memories to all who knew him.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Cropwell, Alabama, on Saturday, April 25. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by Mass at 2:00 p.m. Interment will take place at the columbarium next to the church, with a celebration of life to follow in the reception hall.
