Herschel is survived by his brother: Ray Savage; his sisters: Elizabeth Sandlin and Betty Lawson; his grandchildren: Christopher Savage, Karisa Savage and Jessica Savage; and his great grandchildren: David and Henry Savage and Christopher Savage.
Herschel was preceded in death by his parents Elbert Lee and Annie Maebell Marcum Savage; and his sons David and Dale Savage.
A visitation for Herschel will be held Monday, May 15, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home. A lie in state will occur Tuesday, May 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Blue Creek Baptist Church, 5653 Blue Creek Road, Bessemer, AL 35023 with a celebration of life funeral service to follow. An interment will occur Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Blue Creek Baptist Church adjoining cemetery.
