Rhonda Dean Crittenden Norris, age 68, of Riverside, Alabama went to be with her Lord on June 19, 2021. After a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis and progressive failing health, she, while at her home with her husband, entered peacefully into her eternal rest.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, June 28, 2021, at her home church, Harvest Center Pell City at 10 AM. Born June 12, 1953, in Birmingham, Alabama, she is the daughter of the late Ronald Aaron Crittenden and Brada Nadine Sanderson Crittenden of Birmingham, Alabama. Rhonda was the beloved wife of Thurston Douglas Norris. They were married on March 12, 1983, for 38 years. She was a devoted and loving wife and homemaker and the mother of one son, Allen Michael Norris, who lives in Margaret, Alabama with his wife, Elizabeth and their 4-year-old son, Harrison. Harrison promoted Allen’s beloved Mom to be his Grandma. Rhonda and Thurston moved to Riverside 6 years ago after his retirement and they loved living on the Coosa River in spite the fact she could not really enjoy it very much due to her condition. Rhonda and Thurston became members of Harvest Center Church Pell City, Alabama after their move to Riverside. They had been members of the Bradford Sanctuary of Praise in Pinson, Alabama for about 25 years where she loved to sing alto for her Lord in the BSOP Choir. She was a gifted artist throughout the years doing painting as well as other art forms. She loved tracing her family tree and became an expert genealogist through the years.
She is survived by her husband, Thurston Norris, her son, Allen, daughter in law, Elizabeth and grandson, Harrison. She has two living brothers, Bobby Crittenden of Cullman and Donald Crittenden of Alabaster and a living sister, Deanna Hubbard of Jacksonville, Florida. She was preceded by 2 half-brothers, Ray and Buddy Crittenden.
The family would like to request donations in her honor and to celebrate her life be made to the National MS Society.
