

It was his wish to be with his friends and family who went before him and to greet those he leaves behind with a smile and a hug. Therefore, no callings hours will be held and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Charles was born July 21, 1926, the son of Stephen and Alice Travis. He retired after 38 years with the New York Telephone Company. He was a former Justice of the Peace and Supervisor for the Town of Benton. Charles also was involved as a Cub Scout Leader, Youth Football Commissioner, and Master Mason. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, working and spending time at his camp in the Adirondacks, living on Seneca Lake, snowmobiling, hunting, and traveling the states. He was an avid fan of the New York Giants.
Charles will be missed by his wife of 60 years, Shirley M. Travis. Survivors also include his children Linda Travis, Sandra Miller, Stephen Travis, and Brian (Terri) Travis; grandchildren Melinda Skinner, Garrett Skinner, Michelle Radcliffe (Miller), Nicholas Miller, Erika Travis, and Tyler Travis; along with three great-grandchildren and special friends Rich Foley, Sandra Hill, and Marv and Dorthy Haak.
Charles was predeceased by his parents, brother Harold, and sister Lavilla Griner, also his best friends Alfred Johnson and Keith Fegley.
