John P. Woods

John P. Woods, age 86, passed away Sunday, December 8th, 2013 at his home. He was born in South Birmingham, England. He was in the British Army and later came to the US where he joined the U.S. Air Force. John worked as a fire investigator with the Yates County Sheriffs Office. John was a life member of the Penn Yan Fire Dept., a Life member of Penn Yan Elks Lodge, the Penn Yan American Legion, the Disabled American Veterans, Masons, and the NYS Arson Association.

John is predeceased by his wife of 46 years Jeannie. He is survived by his two daughters, Vicky Lombardozzi (Don) and Debbie Tice (Tim); grandchildren, Christine, Sara, Elizabeth, and Matthew.

Friends and family may call from 4pm to 6pm on Wednesday, December 11th at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan. His funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, December 12th at 11am with the Rev. Paul Malles. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Penn Yan.
