Sallie Ann Bush

Sallie was born in Corning, NY on April 11th, 1941, the daughter of the late Charles and Helen Catherine (Rice) Rickerson. Sallie worked as the deli manager at the former P&C Grocery Store in Penn Yan. She was a member Penn Yan VFW Auxiliary, Penn Yan Moose, and the Penn Yan American Legion. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles, and gardening. She also enjoyed staying at camp and traveling to jamborees and listening to bluegrass music. In addition to her love of family, Sallie loved her ice cream and Elvis Presley.

Sallie is survived by her husband, Rodney F. Bush, Sr.; her children, Catherine ‘Cathy’, Rodney (Polly), Liz, and Charles Bush; grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas (Jill), and Chicael Bush, Sallie-Ann (Dan Blauvelt) and Timmy Ingram, and Brianna and Jordan Bush; great grandchildren, Maddisin, Margaret, Isabelle, and Samantha Bush, Jacob and Lucas Ingram, Alexamae Blauvelt, Landon Gibbons and Dawson Klice; and sisters, Emily Northrup and Helen (Fred) Gee. In addition to her parents, Sallie was predeceased by her brother, Earl “Bud” Rickerson and brother in law, Ernie Northrup.

Friends and family may call from 11am to 1pm on Saturday, January 17th, 2015 at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel, 201 E. Elm St., Penn Yan where a memorial service celebrating her life will be held following at 1pm.
