

B.L. Bartholomew (Bart) Gehbauer, died Monday, December 20, 2010 of natural causes. Bart was a loving husband, brother, son, father, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed. Bart was a veteran of WWII and recently traveled to Washington, D.C. on the Honor Flight where he participated in War Memorial visits and presentations. Bart was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church, charter member of American Legion post 240 where he served as the Chaplain, and member of Am Vets post 292. He was the Chaplain for the Escambia County Veterans Round Table. He was Chaplain and past Le Chef De Gare of La Societe Des 40 Hommes Et 8 Chevaux at Escambia County Florida Voiture 1571 Inc., and past Le Correspondent. Bart was past historian for American Legion Post 240. He was a Chaplain for the Gulf Coast Council of the Boys Scouts of America.
Survivors include: His devoted wife Maxine P. Gehbauer; son and daughter in-law Larry Gehbauer and Carol Kisthardt of Florida, special granddaughter Laura Gehbauer- Lamia, husband Scott and grandson Ethan of Florida, Bruce Peer and wife Gloria of Florida, Beverly Rhodes and husband Wayne of Florida, Laura Dillon of Florida, Al Jeppesen Jr and wife Virginia of Texas, Sue Carriles and husband Robert of Louisiana, Peter Jeppesen of California and Chris Jeppesen and wife Tammy of Florida. He has 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. followed by an American Legion service at 7 p.m. , December 26, 2010 at Oaklawn Funeral Home, 619 New Warrington Road, Pensacola, Florida. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 27, 2010 at St Johns Catholic Church in Warrington, Florida with Father Joseph Callipare officiating. Burial will follow at Pensacola Memorial Gardens.
Pall Bearers will be Phil Keane, John Nye, Kurt Neidigh, Steve Boothby, Lou Mengel and Frank Youtzy. Honorary Pall Bears are Jimmy Lee Martin and Drew Rains.
