

Bette Marie Tara passed away peacefully at the Covenant Hospice in West Florida Hospital surrounded by her family on April 26, 2012. She was born in Astoria, Queens on December 17, 1941. Following graduation, she went on for further training in newborn care at Foundling Hospital in New York. Bette was married to Dr. Harold H. Tara on Sept. 16, 1961. They remained in Astoria until 1972 when the family moved to Wayne, NJ where she raised her three children. She then relocated to Pensacola, Florida in 1996. Bette enjoyed working in her garden and had a special gift for flowers. Her most enjoyment was spending time with her family and friends. Everyone who met her could see that she was a very caring person and touched the lives of many people. She was blessed with three children; seven grandchildren. Bette cherished the time that she spent with all of them. She enjoyed caring for children so much that when her own family matured she would keep herself active watching other children as well. She has and always will have an everlasting impact on many of us and truly touched all of our lives. Bette is predeceased by her father Robert Bundy; her mother Henrietta "Babe" Bundy. She also leaves behind her daughter Suzanne Azimi and her husband Poury with their three children. Aryan, Safieh and Jila she also leaves behind her oldest son Robert and his 2 daughters Kaitlyn and Graceann along with her youngest son Dr. Harold H. Tara, Jr. and his wife Annette with their 2 daughters Victoria and Jessica. We also cannot forget her English Bulldog Babe. Bette will be missed by all but will always remain in our hearts.
Visitation will be Monday, April 30, 2012 from 11:00 am till Noon at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home with the funeral service to start at Noon at the funeral home as well. Burial will follow at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be left at www.easterngatememorial.com. Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
