Born October 2, 1934, in DeFuniak Springs, FL, Betty lived a life marked by kindness, intellect, and a deep love for family. Betty was known for her warmth, laughter and compassion. She was a source of counsel and calm to those that sought it and loved by those who knew her.
Betty is survived by her son, Matthew Bryan; her brothers, Ray, and Gerald Padgett; her cherished grandsons, Brad-Lee, and Drew Bryan; and her great grandchildren, Ella, Grant, Kate and Millie Bryan.
Betty was the first of her family to graduate from college. After college she worked at Gulf Power before becoming a home economics teacher at Tate High School, where she taught from 1970-1997. She was married to Clarence Edward Bryan for over 60 years before he passed away in 2023.
Betty’s commitment to education is evident in her years of teaching and also in her family's lives. She set a standard that generations of Bryan's and Padgett's have followed..
A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm followed by the Funeral Service to celebrate Betty on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel.
We will forever hold our dear Betty in our hearts and memories. May she rest in peace.
