Beulah (Beda-B) Mae Johnson Dean was born on July 11, 1930 in Wainwright, Alabama to Andy “Shug” and Sally Johnson. She accepted Christ at an early age in Wainwright and later became a member of St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church. She was educated in the public school of Wainwright, AL graduating from Bethlehem Industrial Academy (BIA) in 1943. Attended University/College in Pensacola, FL earning her Master’s in Theology from First West Florida Bible Institute. She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Eddie Dean on June 2, 1956. In this happy union 8 children were born and later they adopted 3 siblings. Beulah for those who knew her, knew that her first love was Christ, family and children. While serving faithfully at SPMBC, she served as a Sunday School Teacher and President of Usher Board. Her greatest accomplishment was President of First West Florida Young People Dept. and Sunshine Band Minister and Vice-President of the First West Florida Women’s Association. She was the owner of Dean’s Sanitation for 2 decades and also a member of the White Lily Amaranth Court where she served as Royal Matron and Secretary. She also incorporated the neighborhood bereavement funding
We the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones will always cherish her memories. She was preceded in death by her parents: Andy “Shug” and Sally Johnson; Husband: Eddie Dean; Brothers: James, Robert, Leslie and Henry Johnson. Erica, Valerie and Roseta Dean all of Ft. Lauderdale FL; Sisters: Sallie Tucker and Cora Johnson of Monroeville, AL; In-law; Geneva (Henry, deceased) Johnson Mobile, AL, Charlie (Linda) Dean, Eugene (Rose, deceased) Dean, James (Gladys) Dean, Lily (Edward) Frye, Mary Matthews, Gladys (Clyde, deceased) Bowie, Carl (Katie) Salter; all of Pensacola, Fl. Grandchildren: Acquita, Kelva, Dwight, Jr., Patrick, Jr., Monica, Watice, Kendra, Leslie, Cornelius, Asia, Quentin, Travis, Tawanna, Eddie, Indiyia, D’ante, Madison, Vanessa, Amari, Amya, Samara and eleven great-grands. Special daughter: Mattie Philpot; Goddaughters: Tenisha and Katrina Philpot.; Sherita Stanley, A host of nieces, nephews, friends and love ones. Special friends: Sis. Friends are cordially invited to join the family for a visitation on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Eastern Gate Memorial Funeral Home. A service will be held at St. John Baptist Church on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., followed by the interment at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens.
