It is with heavy hearts that we announce the expiration of Carol Ann Andrews Wilson. She was born at the old Baptist Hospital to the late James Edward Andrews and Mary Irene Davis Andrews. She is predeceased with sisters, Clara Ileen Andrews Bramlette and Lela Marie Andrews Rushing. She is survived by a sister, Mary Estelle Andrews Staples (David). Ann was the beloved wife of Steven D. Wilson, daughter Stephanie (currently unknown) and son, James Robert Wilson (Angela), 4 grandchildren, James M. Wilson, Gabriella Jane Mary Wilson, Ainsley Reese and Rowan Harper Kelly. Also many cousins, nieces and nephews are left behind.
Carol Ann Andrews was a graduate of Escambia High School. She and Steve Wilson married in December 1972. Words are insufficient to express the wonderful character of this awesome woman. She leaves a large void in the family, church and community. She attended Pensacola Junior College for one year focusing on Computer Science. She was a super cook and make almost anything taste good. She worked at Pensacola Seventh Day Adventist Church before answering a call from Northminster Presbyterian Church in its infancy to be office manager. She was diagnosed with CNS SLE Lupus in 1993, then with Multiple Sclerosis in 1997. She fought hard but taught her family how to cook and do all the other practical arts of survival.
Ann joined with her husband in joining the Seventh Day Adventist Church in June 1973. She was a woman of strong faith and believed the Bible completely. She held several positions in the church, but she loved helping folks and encouraged all to reach as far up as possible. In lieu of flowers, it is her desire that those wishing to give may give to the Benevolence Fund at the University Parkway SDA Church, 8751 University Parkway, Pensacola, FL 32514 or to a charity of your choice. We would like to thank Covenant Hospice for such wonderful care for over 2 years, Mrs. Carolyn McGhee and Mrs. Dee Davis, Vitas Hospice care by Mrs. Sandra Duff the past 8 months. '
The memorial service will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home on New Warrington Road, Pensacola and officiated by Pastor Robert Menesis. Interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery.
