Old friend! I can't believe that it has been two years. I miss you and Mary. I miss our emails and our talks. You will forever be in my heart.

Uncle Doughlas you always been there for me I remember when I would come down to visit you you would Have. Cook out I loved your grili Hamburgers and Hot dogs I call you on Vaterns day but you was called home I cried when I hard the news I didn't cry because you left me I cried because I wasn't able to tell you I love you and to say I'll see you in Heaven one day I love you and I'll miss you always papa dougles !!

We enjoyed our times , together, throughout our lives.  We will miss  your laughter and jokes,  many great memories.  We will miss you on earth,  we will see you in heaven. God Bless.

I met Doug 50 years ago when I report to my first submarine. I worked for him at four different commands. Besides being my boss, he was a great teacher, mentor and friend. Thank you for your guidance and words of wisdom. You are sorely missed. Rest in peace my friend.

I met Doug at our Submarine Veterans Drum Base meetings.  We found out we had the same jobs and were on the same boat, at different times.  But, we were able to share some fond memories of those times.  He added a great deal to our meetings and I will miss him being there.  I only knew him a couple of years, but he enriched my life just by knowing him.  Rest your oars, my friend, level bubble.


To his precious family, we are so sorry for your Loss.  We had great respect for  Doug. The last time they came to visit  Ralph and Peggy, we met up a seafood restaurant in Darien.  My husband and Doug talked military.  He was fun to be with. His Love for Mary and family was very clear. Rip Doug, until we meet in Heaven. 

Don thanks for being my friend over the past years. We shared alot of sea stories and being on the same submarine at different times gave us alot to talk about. I will miss you Don and now rest your ore !

We will always remember how kind and friendly Mr. Garrett was next door.   We appreciate him and Mrs. Garrett for always being there for my Mom when my Dad passed.  We will definitely miss him in the neighborhood.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time.  Rest in peace Mr. Garrett.

Grandpa will be missed! He was always there for us growing up and cared deeply about the family. He made sure everyone had what they needed. Grandpa made sure we knew it was important to be able to provide for our families and the importance of working hard and being frugal. I know Hanna and I made him proud!! :) Rest In Peace Grandpa. We love you!

Doug was a great shipmate and friend. He truly made our Drum Base meetings fun. Doug will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the friends and family.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 2 sisters. He is survived by his spouse Mary Garrett and his three sons Donald E Garrett, Kelvin Garrett, and David Garrett. He has 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
