

She was born in Springfield, Illinois to Donald Charles Shepherd and Marjorie Lee Shepherd.
She was a proud Lanphier Lion and a former Job’s Daughters Honor Queen. It was in Springfield where she met her husband while he was on leave from the Navy. Soon after they were married and moved from duty station to duty station while raising a family. Donna always enjoyed working with others and during this time she was a Girl Scout Leader, Marching Band Treasurer, and PTA Mom. She retired last year from
Hellen Caro Elementary School as a Data Specialist II, having worked her way up from a volunteer and teacher’s aide. She was always willing to help, with a big smile and laugh.
Donna is predeceased by her father Donald Shepherd and her step-father William
Clinton.
Donna is survived by her husband Merrill, daughter Erica, and son Marcus. She is also survived by her mother, Marjorie Clinton, sisters Linda Denham and Virginia Shepherd, and multiple cousins, nieces, and a nephew.
Funeral Services will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral home in Pensacola on Tuesday May 27 2025. Visitation begins at 11:30, services at 12:30. Internment is at Barrancas National Cemetery located onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola.
In lieu of flowers it is requested that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Organization, pancan.org, and/or the local Humane Society.
