Douglas Brent Litton, Sr., 83, passed away August 12, 2016. Born in Litton, MS to John Hobart Litton and Mary Frances “Mimi” Gilmer Litton, he graduated from Shaw High School in Shaw, MS. Doug grew up an avid baseball player being All SEC 3rd Baseman at Mississippi State University 1952, 1953 & 1954 where he received a Master’s Degree in Education. Stationed in Panama in the US Army 1955-56, he later returned and became Athletic Director at Cristobal High School in the Panama Canal Zone from 1962-1978.
He is survived by his wife Tommye Jean Green Litton, two sisters, Rose Marie “Took” Litton Mason and Gaylene “Gai” Litton Davis; his children, Brent Litton, Greg Litton, Donna Litton Scapin; and grandchildren, Patrick Litton, Cory Litton, Alexandra Scapin, Lauren Litton, Brandon Scapin, and Morgan Litton.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 16th at 10am at East Brent Baptist Church before the service at 11am. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
