Elizabeth Coburger Gutermuth

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Elizabeth “Beth” Coburger Gutermuth, who passed away on March 21, 2024, at the age of 61. She was born on July 9, 1962, to Hank and Colleen Coburger.

Beth was a lifelong member of St Thomas More Catholic Church, where she attended her first 8 years of school. After graduating from Pensacola Adult High in 1980, she studied accounting at George Stone Vocational Tech and Pensacola Jr College. Beth was employed at Copy Products and then worked at Perdido Beach Resort. After an early retirement for medical reasons, she dedicated her life to caring for family members and friends in many loving ways.

Beth wore many hats and was called by numerous names-Mom, Aunt Beth, Grandma Beth, Lil’ Bit, and Bet. Although she only gave birth to one cherished son, many others loved her as a Mother. Beth could be loud and funny, but also warm and nurturing. Her love for pugs and nature was only surpassed by her love for babies.

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Colleen Coburger; son John Steven Daniel (Rebecca); and siblings Maureen, Fallon and David.

She is survived by siblings Linda, Michael (Cecelia), Rosemary, Carol (JR); many nieces, nephews and cousins; and 2 “adopted” sons JD and Carlos.
