

During his 21-year career in the U.S. Navy (Seabees), he received the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Star and Meritorious Unit Commendation, Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Award, National Defense Service Medal and Combat Operations Award. He went on to work and retire from General Electric and Escambia County Road Department.
Lee was a lifetime member of Zelica Grotto and also was a lifetime member of the Masons. He enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing cards and casino trips.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Barbara Braun Hughes, a son, Michael (Lynn) Hughes; grandchildren: Justin Hughes, Kristy (Daniel) Baucon and Hagen Hughes; step-daughters Kimberly (Glenn) Dorsey and Sheila Paul; step-grandchildren: Gunnar Paul, Tristan Paul, Lauren Dorsey and Luke Dorsey; great-grandchildren: Bryson Baucom, Gunner Baucom, Caiden Graves, Brooklyn Delano; brother James Hughes and nieces Carolyn Dukes and Linda Morgan
Mr. Hughes is preceded in death by his parents, George W .and Eula Booker Hughes, sisters: Earnestine Johnson, Mary Corbin and Dorothy Heath; brothers: Waylon, Billy, Henry and Clarence (Joe) Hughes.
