Jim was born 11/19/1925 to James and Mary McLeod in Ann Arbor, Michigan and passed away Friday 03/27/2020 at home. (Perdido Bay Golf Resort, Pensacola, FL.) He was predeceased by his two sisters, Mary Margaret McLeod Knight of Bay City, MI and Kay McLeod Gillam of Arlington, VA. He attended school in Ann Arbor, MI and graduated from St. Thomas High School. He enlisted in the Air Force immediately after his 18th birthday in 1943. After basic training, he was stationed in England and became a crew member (waist gunner/radio operator) on a B17 bomber that helped bomb Germany. After his military discharge, he began his college education at Michigan State University and graduated in 1950 with a BA degree, then an Industrial Engineering degree in 1953. From 1950 to 1987 Jim worked in management for King Seely Corporation, Ford Motor Company and Hoover Ball Bearing in Michigan. Then a Plant Manager for Federal Mogul Corporation in Detroit, MI and Hamilton, AL, also Fafnir Bearing Company in Calhoun, GA. After retirement, he and his wife Burma moved to their current location- Perdido Bay Golf Resort, Pensacola, FL where he enjoyed playing golf for many years. He leaves behind to mourn his passing his wife of 47 years Burma Wright McLeod and his four children from a previous marriage to Kathryn Erdman McLeod. nine grand children, one step grandchild, 12 great grandchildren, one niece and four nephews. Jim was a loving, devoted and generous husband, father and good friend. He is and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Oak Lawn Funeral Home is entrusted with funeral arrangements.
