Jean Murphree Struck, 83, died peacefully on Tuesday night, October 6, 2015. She was the daughter of Onez and Paul Murphree of Oneonta, Alabama and is survived by her brother, James P. Murphree, who resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife Edith C. Murphree.
Jean was a long time resident of Pensacola, Florida, a city which she loved from the first day she arrived. She was born in Birmingham, Alabama, graduated from Tarrant High School and attended Jacksonville University, also in Alabama. Jean worked at Monsanto Company (Chemstrand) from 1958 until she retired in 1993. She was recognized as a top employee and won numerous awards for her work, including the “Ms. Chemstrand” title in 1961. Jean was a devoted friend with a vibrant personality and brightened up any room she entered. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege and honor of knowing her.
