Joan Covington Palmer, 87, of Pensacola, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015.
Joan was born August 04, 1928 in Pensacola to Dwight M. Covington and Evelyn Smith Covington. She was a long time member of East Hill Church of Christ and an elementary school teacher in Escambia County for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Palmer and her parents.
Survivors include her sons, Glen Palmer of Tellico Plains, TN and Gregory Palmer of Pensacola, FL; daughter, Patricia Tatum of Pensacola, FL; brother, Dwight H. Covington of Plano, TX and David Covington of Palatka, FL; sister, Lola Burdick of Warrington, FL; grandchildren, Tony, Tina and Monica; two great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and numerous other relatives.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, October 03, 2015 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel. Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday.
