Jon Kevin Marchetti (60) passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his four sons, Simon, Leo, Jett and Rocco Marchetti. Survivors also include his ex-wife Angela Marchetti, his girlfriend Dagney Taggert and his sisters Mary Shawn Marchetti Henning and Jennifer Marchetti Kensler. He also leaves behind many devoted nieces and nephews.
Kevin earned degrees in both Civil Engineering Technology, and Drafting and Design.
He was multitalented and was known around Pensacola as the Renaissance Man of his successful company, Renaissaince Fabrications, where he created custom functional art in fences, gates, rails and structural supports for projects around town including the new three-mile-bridge. He also created fine art such as the sculpture on the Gulf Breeze side of the 3-mile-bridge. His fine artwork can be seen all around Pensacola and Gulf Breeze including the children’s sculpture garden at Sacred Heart.
Kevin Marchetti was an accomplished metal-smith, tool designer, artist and consultant who custom designed and fabricated functional art and museum class sculptures using a variety of techniques, metals and other materials.
His functional art also includes furniture, balcony rails, circular staircases, staircase handrails, ornamental fences, sculpture and more. He used all types of metal – cast iron, bronze, aluminum, copper and gold. He often incorporated several mediums including metals, paint, pastels, fused glass, ceramics and hand carved wood. No matter the medium, his art is thought provoking and reflects his great passion.
Marchetti has won numerous awards including 1st place at the Artell Gallery “Hands On” show, 1st and 3rd place in Jewelry at Pensacola State College. Prior to founding Renaissance Man in 2003, Marchetti worked at Westinghouse Electric Corporation where he earned several additional awards including five Patent Disclosures, five cost reduction awards, two Quality Achievement awards and 27 quality improvement change requests. In addition, Marchetti also designed and fabricated tools and fixtures on combustion turbine engines and was team leader on a D-5 test hoist stand while working on nuclear submarines and nuclear steam generators.
Kevin was one of those people who would literally give you the shirt off his back. He volunteered with the Big Brother - Big Sister organization for 10 years and was named Big Brother of the year in 1999. In addition to his art he was also a talented musician and composer. He hosted weekly jam sessions in his man-cave the Jam Shack.
Services will be at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel & Bayview Memorial Park, 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, Florida 32503 on Monday, June 28.
