

Larry was born in Pensacola Florida, the son of Melvin Kenneth Bell and Margie Marie Floyd Bell. Larry's dad was in the Navy and the family moved from Pensacola to Rhode Island, to Jacksonville and then to Naples Italy. Upon returning to the states, the family settled in Jacksonville, Florida.
Larry graduated from N.B. Forrest High School in 1965. He attended Pensacola Junior College and in 1967 joined the U.S. Army.
Larry was an Army Special Forces Green Beret. He received his basic Airborne training at Ft. Benning, Georgia. He ended his Army service as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Larry was a Vietnam era veteran.
Larry enjoyed camping, fishing and was a voracious reader.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Elizabeth Bell, his brother Kenneth C. Bell (Norma), a sister, Kathy A. Bell, his Aunt Mary Delane Ackerman, three nephews, one niece, many cousins and his Ex-Wife and lifelong friend, Mary R. Bell.
