Wish to offer my condolences to Lee's family from a fellow classmate. On occasion I had asked Lee's advice on a civil matter. He handed out that advise with professionalism and went out of his way to seek answers to my questions. Will be missed deeply by all who have known him. Your Buddy Ralph

I remember many enjoyable flights with Lee on the Convair 880 - a true gentleman and a fine pilot.

I flew many Europe trips as Lee's co-pilot on the Tristar - we traded many Navy Happy Hour stories, including Lee's blimp tales about doing "bagovers" - and the dreaded 'High Altitude Hissout." A fine pilot and an even finer man.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I'll always remember having a good time flying with Lee.

I remember Lee, fondly, from playing in the Atlanta Concert Band when I was in high school.  When Lee first ran for Fulton County Commisssion, a few of us from the band met at his house and played marches, pop tunes and Dixieland on the back of a flatbed trailer up and down Fulton County for a day while Lee worked the crowds for his campaign.  I will never forget the Conn Double-Belled Euphonium that he played( and was so fond of!).  He was a dedicated, beautiful individual.  I offer my condolences and prayers to his family.  May Lee rest in Peace.

I flew with Lee many times as his co- pilot.He was a great guy and great to fly with. On one occasion we flew into Indianapolis on the day of the 500 and he knew and carried on a conversation with the blimp pilot. Lee I hope you have a good flight West.

Lee was one of those that come along once in a lifetime. A gentleman, great pilot, always a smile. Lee, when we meet again in the sky I hope you to teach me to fly one of those lighter than air machines. God Bless.

Lee was a good friend of mine and my wife, Brooke. Besides our connection with Delta Air Lines, we worked together in the political arena when he served as a Fulton County Commissioner. His son, Chris and our twin daughters were close friends as they competed in the sport of rowing on the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta when they were in high school. Lee and Natalie were very supportive and we had some good times together. Since retirement from Delta we had lost contact but we always had great love and appreciation for them. Lee will be missed and we send our love to Natalie and the kids.

A real gentleman & pilot. We had many wonderful flights together on the Convair 880. Lee was a Naval Aviator, a rare, lighter than air pilot. He had a mastery of the language of airship lingo, as well as other subjects. We salute you, we'll miss you Captain Lee! May the bosun at the Gates pipe you aboard.

Sending condolences from our family to yours, upon hearing the sad news of Lee's passing.  I remember fondly having the chance to fly with Lee, including a memorable engine shutdown between ATL & JFK on a Moscow trip we shared.  I recall his passion for lighter than air platforms and always enjoyed working for such a gentleman in the cockpit.  His legacy of military service, volunteering, public service and Delta Air Lines is one his entire family should take comfort in at this time.  God Bless-

There is a tremor in the "force field" noted on Lee's passing.  I had the pleaure of flying with him many times at Delta, and have the fondest memories of his famous, "cast off the bow line" as we rolled down the runway on takoff.  He was special in many ways, and one of the Navy's few "lighter than air" pilots!
