

On January 27, 2026, Linda L. Homyak passed away after a seven-year battle with Alzheimer’s, at Ivy Park at Otay Ranch in Chula Vista, California. Linda was born to Captain James D. Homyak and Mary Jo (Anderson) Homyak in Glendale, California on August 11, 1949.
She was preceded by death by her parents and her loving husband, John M Pientka, who passed Aug 13, 2022.
Linda is survived by her two brothers* and family: *William A. Homyak (Meredith Sinclair) of Chula Vista, Ca and son, Gregory Homyak. *James D. (Pamela) Homyak of Pensacola, Fl, as well as her step-children, Kate (Thomas) Kirschmann, and Alex (Claire) Pientka, and three grandchildren: Nell, Caroline & Linnea of Philadelphia, Pa.
Linda graduated from McLean High School in McLean, Virginia in 1967, then attended the University of South Florida and later graduated with a B.A. Degree from Georgia State University. Linda managed her own home building company in Atlanta 1981 – 1991, and was a senior manager at British Telecom Syncordia 1991-1997, and Teams Director at Motorola SATCOM 1997-2001.
Linda enjoyed tennis, long-distance running, swimming, and with her husband John, never shied away from making friends on her barstool at Houston’s. Most of all, she was devoted to her family and friends, always there when help was needed.
A memorial service celebrating Linda’s life will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Bayview Fisher-Pou Memorial Park, Pensacola, Florida. The service will be outside in the Cremation Garden. As an avid animal lover, Linda’s family welcomes donations to the Humane Society of your choice. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Association are also appreciated.
