OBITUARY
Lonnie Wade Burdette
9 November, 1966 – 15 March, 2023

IN THE CARE OF
Oak Lawn Funeral Home
Lonnie Wade Burdette, known as Lon or Lonnie to friends passed over into eternity to be with friends and family who went before him on March 15, 2023.
Lonnie leaves behind his father Gordon, his soul mate and husband Jim and several friends and family members.
Lon was born to Gordon and Karen in Alabama on November 9, 1966. He was truly brought up as a southern boy by his parents and grandparents until the age of 18 when he, as all southern boys do, set off on his own to discover the world. Adventures to Colorado and Florida and all points in between enriched his life. Lon took up his natural ability of Interior Design as a lifelong career. He worked in Miami as an interior designer meeting his soul mate Jim, in church on February 17, 1994. In August of 1997 they moved to New York and established a bed and breakfast at the old farmhouse, Jim's home and of course, Lon designed a beautiful home for them and visitors until they decided to move to Pensacola early 2001. Purchasing a house there they met several friends in the great south. Lon would continue his career in Pensacola, Florida until he was called to be with friends and family on the morning of March 15, 2023.
There are no words to express how grateful and blessed the family of Lon is to our neighbors and family and friends on the morning of his passing. Also a heartfelt thank you to the EMT's, the Sheriff's Department, especially Deputy Kersey and Oak Lawn Funeral Home and Pastor Ted Johnson for doing everything they could do to help us.
To the Moon and Back Lon!
