Lydia Ellen Jones

1933 – 2011

Lydia Ellen Jones, 78, of Milton, died Saturday, May 28, 2011.

Lydia was born January 18, 1933 in Seven Mile, Ohio to Homer and Nancy Roach Conley. At the age of 12 she moved with her family to Indiana where she met David Jones, a 15 year old young man that lived up the hill from her home. Lydia and David became sweethearts and married five years later on May 24, 1951. They were married for 50 years, until David’s death in 2001. Lydia was a homemaker, whose grandchildren were joy of her life. She loved cooking and baking, and was the neighborhood mother for all the children in the area. Lydia enjoyed her hobbies of bingo and fishing.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, A. Robert Jones & Gail Jones of Pensacola, FL and D. Wayne Jones & Lisa Jones of Fairfield, OH; daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy D. Tallman & Walt Tallman of Milton, FL, Terry I Morris & Pete Morris of Pensacola, FL; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 11:45 a.m., Tuesday, June 07, 2011 at Barrancas National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m., Tuesday June 07, 2011 at the funeral home.
